Teacher Qualifications
Our guides share a passion for the Montessori method and a commitment to lifelong learning. Many are homeschooling parents with a high school diploma or higher. We support and encourage all team members in continuing their Montessori education, which may include certification and completing a bachelor’s degree if not already held. In keeping with Montessori standards, each classroom includes at least one guide who is certified or actively working toward certification.
Extracurricular Activities
Families are welcome to join us for monthly gatherings, seasonal events, and fieldtrips even if you don't attend our Tues/Thurs core learning days. If you'd like to join us, please reach out for more information.
Parent Engagement
We believe God has intentionally placed your child in your family—and that you are the most important influence in their growth and development. Families are encouraged to participate in community events, support classroom life, and share their unique gifts with the group.
We also offer opportunities for parent growth and support, such as small group studies on the Connected Families framework—equipping caregivers with tools for building strong, grace-filled relationships at home. Whether through volunteering, serving as a substitute, or exploring the role of a classroom guide, there are many ways to be involved in our community.
Support Services
We integrate Sound Therapy into the classroom environment to nurture calm, focus, and overall well-being. Through intentional use of sound, we support emotional regulation, nervous system balance, and mind-body connection as part of each child’s daily rhythm.
We also partner with parents to connect families to additional resources as needed—such as Brain Training PACE (Processing and Cognitive Enhancement) programs and parenting frameworks like Connected Families, which offer Biblically-centered tools for raising kids with grace and connection. Every child is seen, supported, and encouraged to thrive in their unique journey.
Legal Filing
Families are not required to choose a specific umbrella school to participate in SMMC. However, we are proud to partner with AliYah Academy, a Category IV church-related umbrella school that supports homeschoolers, co-ops, and learning communities like ours.
By registering with AliYah Academy, we’re able to assist you directly with recordkeeping, attendance, and other reporting requirements. This partnership helps ensure your family remains legally compliant while also receiving the support and guidance you need on your homeschooling journey.
